CURRICULUM
|
Nurturing Miracles One Child at a
Time... The Little Miracles School primarily utilizes the
Creative Curriculum (Creative-Play model). The philosophy behind this
curriculum is that young children learn best by doing. We teach and play
subjects such as science, physical education, music and movement, crafts,
arts, story time, drama, cooking, foreign languages, and drama to
promote your child's overall development. We also have computers and age
appropriate educational software for children to play and learn with. The Little Miracles School also utilizes some aspects of other curricula's like the Montessori Philosophy and the Progressive Education model. We select the most innovative, economical, educational, and satisfying aspects of several curricula to further enrich our curriculum and to provide a comprehensive learning package for the children. We believe that learning occurs in children’s minds as a result of interaction - an interaction between thought and experience, an interaction with a physical object, an interaction between a child and an adult, or an interaction between children and their peers. To aid in a child’s development, we provide child-appropriate toys, equipment, and learning materials that are fun yet educational activities. The daily activities that are planned for
children, the classroom arrangement, the toys and materials, and the
adult/child interaction are all designed to help accomplish the goals of our
curriculum. Our main goal is to help each child become self-confident,
independent, inquisitive learners with a successful start in school.
