Job Descriptions

Assistant Caregiver Teacher: Assists in the daily management and supervision of the classroom and children. Plans and implements curriculum and other programs. Instructs, manages and supervises children and the classroom.

Caregiver Teacher:
Plans and implements curriculum and other programs. Instructs, manages and supervises children and the classroom. Ensures all parent, child and classroom staff concerns are appropriately addressed.

Educational Coordinator: A lead teacher who also acts as a mentor to other teachers several hours per week, identifying staff training needs and training staff in appropriate early childhood education concepts. Ensures that lesson plans, teaching aids, and classrooms are all age appropriate. Also helps in parent development activities.

Assistant Center Director-Assists the Director in all aspects of managing a center, including human resources, marketing, customer relations, financial systems, quality control, and physical facility. 

Center Director-Manages all aspects of a center, including human resources, marketing, customer relations, financial systems, quality control, physical facility, parent relations, and licensing. Ensures effective operation of the daycare center to achieve budget targets, effective cost control and improved quality of operations. Supervises all other support staff.

Cook: Plans and prepares snacks and meals; orders and inventories all kitchen items; ensures health and safety standards are met.

Van Driver: Drives van to transport children to and from the Center over specified routes according to assigned time schedule. Responsible for the safety of the children in the school van. 

Consultants /Part Time Staff

a. Nurse: Helps teachers understand the health needs of the children. Also, helps in caring for children who get sick at the daycare.

b. Doctor / Pediatrician: In a hospital close to the daycare. Helps staff plan and organize the center's health program. Available to staff members and parents for consultation on health problems and for emergencies.

c. Part time teachers (e.g. French teacher): Special classes that cannot be taught by the caregivers are taught by part-time teachers. The part-time teacher creates the curriculum with the children's developmental stages in mind.
